Lomo camera experiments in Agadir
I was a little nervous about a surf trip to Morocco with my longboard, having heard that the surf spots were pretty rocky with tricky entry and exit points. Plus I'd heard that western women were something of a novelty in an Arabic country! Opting to stay with Surf Maroc with guided surfing seemed like a great option.
As soon as we'd hopped on and off a nice short flight and been picked up by Surf Maroc and taken to our base in Taghazout we relaxed straight away. The accomodation was perfectly positioned right amongst the fishing community in the heart of Taghazout, just around the closest corner to the left was Panorama's, then to the right in the distance, world class Anchor Point. Hearing the sound of the ocean anywhere in the world makes me feel at home. The Auberge was beautifully decorated Moroccan style with white washed walls and the typical blue shutters.
Checking the surf reports lead to a bit of dissapointment seeing that the 10 days we had there had little swell forecast! Whilst there was some swell around we headed to south to Tifnit Reef on the first day for some overhead waves, it was so nice to be in warm water! Dale managed to get a few pics.

We managed to get a small wave at Mysteries Point in the afternoon and had a go at a couple of water shots. For the majority of the trip we headed north up the coast to Tamri beach as it was pretty much the only option. The banks were awesome, we didn't expect to end up surfing a beachie for the whole time but it was pretty fun between 2 and 4 foot every day! It seemed that half of Perranporth and Aggie were out there so it was great to surf with Nicola Bunt and bumped into Sophie Skinner too!I'll definitely head back for some more tagines and warm waves. x
